Precautions to Take During Your Travel
Always change your cash at reputed banks, foreign bureaux or hotels. Never change your money in the black market. Don’t expose your cash in public or hand over money to someone especially along the city streets. Avoid isolated streets and dark alleys. Don’t carry more money than you need when going out. Don’t display expensive jewelry. Be aware of the possibility of pick-pockets and bag snatchers in crowded areas. Keep copies of all your important documents separately from the originals incase of loss. While staying at the hotels, keep your money in the safe deposit boxes. Don’t leave valuables in the room. Health, Safety, And Securities
General standard of safety, hygiene, fire precautions etccan be different to those we take for granted in our countries.Immunization against typhoid is highly recommended. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required from travellers over one year of age. Find out from your travel agent if your country is classified as an endemic zone. For such visitors the vaccine is mandatory. Travelers arriving from non-endemic zones should note that vaccination is strongly recommended for travel outside the urban areas, even if an outbreak of the disease has not been reported. A cholera vaccination certificate is not mandatory for entry to Kenya. However, cholera is a serious risk in Kenya and precautions should be taken.

Weather
In the low-lying areas, particularly along the coast, the climate is tropical, hot and humid. If your are travelling to Mombasa, please do not pack a blanket. You do not need one. The weather is quite hot even at night.
On the Plateau and in the highlands the climate is more temperate. Western Kenya and most parts of Nyanza experience heavy conventional rain and have two rain seasons, the long rains from April to June and the short rains from October to November.
Nairobi has a more sober climate with none of the extremes. July and August are considered the coldest months in Nairobi and especially July. Swimming
Swimming along many coasts can be dangerous due to strong undercurrents and other elements.Please seek the advice of the local representative before venturing into sea and avoid in deserted areas.Do not let non-swimmer or children jump into a swimming pool without first checking the depth and means of exit.
Currency & Exchange
Some countries have restrictions on the importation and exportation of local currency.Please check with relevant Embassy or High Commission.Never exchange money on the black market.Services paid by credit card will be subject to the applicable rate of exchange at the time the voucher is presented to the credit card company and may differ from the rate prevailing on the date of the service was provided.Certain local banks may levy an additional charge.Please ensure you have sufficient monies to cover all expenses whilst on holiday as our local representatives are unable to help in the eventuality of having insufficient funds in resort.

Photography
In many cultures it is polite to ask permission before taking a photograph of a person and you may be asked to pay to photograph a person.Do not take photograph of Airports, bridges, government offices or military buildings.Always check with the guide/rep/driver.Some countries may require you to register or bond your video equipments with custom on entry.
