Mara Safari Club

 

Loaction: Located in the Ol Choro Ol Roua conservation area, just outside the park, about 250 kms from Nairobi. It lies in the north west of the Masai Mara at the foot of the Aitong Hills. The camp is positioned on an ox-bow of the mara river that is surrounded on three sides by the Mara River; so that all en-suite tents have a view of the hippo-filled river.

 

WoburnresclubThe lodge is surrounded by well-cultivated gardens dotted among indigenous trees.

here is a total of 50 tents,

Regular activities include Maasai dancing,

slide shows, talks on the Mara ecosystem

and Maasai culture, all add up to create a

truly unique experience. Game drives are guided by experienced "driver-naturalists" in four-wheel-drive Land Cruiser or Land Rovers, and viewing may include some of the Big Five such as Elephant, Cape Buffalo and Lion.

Accommodation: It has 50 Ivory Class tents, of which 42 are twin-bedded and 10 double-bedded. 10 of these double bedded-tents are Premium tents and have sunken baths in the bathrooms. 80 beds in luxury tents superbly furnished to the highest possible standards with it's own private river frontage, four-poster beds, verandah, electricity, modern en-suite facilities with hot and cold running water.There is also a platform between these tents and the standard tents, allowing for superb game-viewing and private dining.

 

MarasafariclubThe main building (cantilevered over the river) houses the lounge, bar and restaurant where

a cosmopolitan combination of food is served, including traditional Kenyan dishes; buffet lunches and barbecues are sometimes held

by the poolside.

 

Facilities: All tents have water flasks with glasses, insecticide and air-freshener, 220v electrical sockets, "lamps" (electrical), dressing table and hand-woven rugs and poster-bed drapes. All bathrooms have a shower stall or bath, flush toilets in bathroom, washbasin, Lonrho shampoo, hand and body lotion, shower and bath gel, and freshly laundered towels, solar-heated hot- and cold running water, windows with mosquito gauze and flaps, a flashlight and an umbrella. All tents have square-pin electric sockets for easy charging of video cameras, cameras and other electric gadgets. Adapters are available from Reception.Game drives in 4x4 vehicles, pool, and wildlife library. Lounge bar and dinning room, the club pool, Al Fresco buffet, lunches & nightly Maasai dances. Black tie dinners, balloon safaris, bush breakfasts, weddings, walking safaris and game drive.
